| Five London C&I players talk to Julia Buchanan about the impact of the economic downturn
Justine Clement, Managing Director, Unmissable
Have we seen any difference in the number of bookings so far this year? It’s too early to say, but I wouldn’t say there’s been a drop because the UK is quite attractive in the light of budget constraints.
I don’t see any reason why London should suffer or lose out to Europe for instance, because of the exchange rate. But overall, with budgets being revised down, most destinations are going to feel the pinch this year.
London will need to adapt, not rest on its laurels, in the same way all businesses are having to do. That is why we are developing a new strategy for 2009. We must all work hard and concentrate on our strengths and offer our usual high levels of service.
I think the UK will definitely become more attractive for Europeans customers, many of whom have previously seen London as too expensive. It is highly likely that UK companies could switch from Europe to England.
