| Despite having a reputation
for glamour and expense, low cost carriers and new
hotel developments are giving Monaco the ability to
host events for all budgets.
Upstarts in this part of the Mediterranean are few
and far between, the coastline having been developed
as much as geography and good taste will sensibly
allow. Hotel group Societe des Bains de Mer (SBM)
managed to get round this issue in 2006 by reclaiming
land on the Larvaotto Peninsula and building a four-star
property on it.
“The Monte Carlo Bay Hotel was the new kid
on the block a couple of years ago”, says Libby
Christie, head of operations at travel incentive specialist,
Unmissable. It’s ideal for large groups –
there are 334 rooms – and it boasts four restaurants,
a top spa, and an in-house casino. It offers excellent
service and manages groups efficiently, but with the
care and attention you want.”
