looks at how promoters can tap into Easter, from retailers
and confectionery companies to staff and customer
incentive programmes.”
Focussing on staff & customer incentive programmes:
- Continued rise in the commercialism of Easter
and the ever growing rise of sales of items such
as Easter eggs, has allowed confectionary brands
to increase their visibility through a range of
consumer facing promotions.
- Similar to other events during the course of
the year such as Valentines Day & Halloween,
the specific nature of the event allows brands not
only to tailor their campaigns around the event
but also offer prizes / incentives which tie in
with the activity:
- Holiday to Chile & Easter Island
- Kids cookery class – make your own
chocolate Easter egg
- Stay in a hotel in the UK with rooms dedicated
to chocolate
- Chocolate Factory tours
- Weekend breaks to Easter themed festivals
and events
- The confectionary Industry could look at developing
specific 3rd party promotional tie-ups with activity
/ sports camps which are run during the summer holiday’s.
This would go some way to silencing the critics
who blame the confectionary industry in part for
creating an obese society amongst children.
