It’s been hard work here at Unmissable lately, having been buried under a mountain of admin caused by volcanic ash and BA strikes I decided it was time to relax for a while and think I’ve found the perfect place. Casa Olea is a luxury 6 room b&b surrounded by ancient olive groves in the Sierra Subbetica Mountains. Is really is in the middle of nowhere, and it turns out that nowhere is an idyllic place to be. We enjoyed lazy afternoons by the pool (with an glass of ice cold beer or two), gorgeous home cooked food and long walks in the amazing countryside with Ruby, the resident friendly dog. A lovely treat for us inner city, full time workers who would love a dog of our own. The place is owned and run by Tim and Claire an English couple who spent years painstakingly restoring the farm house to it’s former glory (actually it’s much better than that, I doubt if the original had beds that were quite so comfy). We had an amazing stay and came back refreshed with some grand design dreams of our own.
Meanwhile, back in the real world I have some more poor prize-winners with cancelled BA flights to rebook……
