5 star Cycling in the Spring

Majorca with Tour de France Stage winner
Inspirational views from the villas, terrain which dares to be attacked. Why not? Riding with Marcel. Marcel Wüst. The man who has won stages on the Grand Tours. The man who in 2000 fulfilled a childhood fantasy of winning a stage at the Tour de France.
Ride from the villas to Cap Formentor. See the lighthouse at the island’s tip. This is the most exhilarating road you will ever cycle on. The Med is on either side. Cycle onwards on a narrow jut of land and reach the lighthouse. The views are sensational. What a ride.
Make your first assault on the legendary Majorcan cols. Marcel will encourage you, push you through the pain barriers. The summit of Puig Major is in the distance. That is your goal, your only objective. Forget the office, forget the blackberry. You will reach that summit. Marcel will chat with you as the mountain flattens for a few hundred yards and temporarily forgives.
Don’t waste your energy throwing your body out from side to side Marcel will tell you. Be controlled. Focus. Get a rhythm.
Head towards Valdemossa where you won’t have seen a car all day, cycle through Sa Colobra, charming Lluc. The places you will see are breathtaking. Back to the villas you will lounge by your own pool as the sun starts to disappear behind the mountains. The healing hands of the masseuse await you.
Tuscan Lovers Paradise
Paradise. The rolling hills, the endless olive groves and the sunbaked landscape of Tuscany make for a sensational setting in which to spend a week with your other half. Go to Tuscany on a lovers trip to cycle through the most enchanting of regions and to eat and drink from God’s very own kitchen and ride through his back garden!
From the airport, you will be driven for an hour or so through gorgeous Tuscan countryside to a sleepy hamlet just outside Fiesole, famous for its absolutely sensational views over Florence. The 16th century villa is classically Tuscan and retains its amazing charm, but it has been fully restored to provide absolute luxury.
The villa sits invitingly in amongst the olive groves and vineyards for which the region is so famous. There are superb views of the countryside from the garden and every room in the villa, but none so sweeping as the views from the tower.
This really is a fantastic place to spend a romantic week together.
It is of course sacrilegious to explore Tuscany and regions such as Chianti and ignore the world famous wines. You can then take pampering to a new level. You will have a wine tasting evening at the villa courtesy of a renowned Italian sommelier - don’t worry, the following day’s ride will be nice and relaxed (!), as well as a cooking evening where the chef will have the night off and you will learn to cook traditional Tuscan food.
Unmissable cycling experiences not worth missing
